Frequently Asked Questions
At Progressive Dental Group, we want all of our patients to feel confident and well-informed when it comes to something as important as their smile’s ongoing health. If you have any questions or concerns about dentistry, our knowledgeable team members are standing by to answer them as needed. For added convenience, we’ve even compiled some of our most popular FAQs below! If you still don’t find the information you’re looking for after reading through the rest of the page, be sure to let us know.
How often should I visit the dentist’s office?
In most cases, we recommend scheduling two checkups and two cleanings every six months, or twice in a calendar year. If there are outlying circumstances, such as an oversensitivity to tooth decay or the presence of gum disease, our dentists may suggest 3-4 month gaps between visits instead so that we can provide more effective preventive care. We can help you determine the best schedule for your specific oral health needs during an initial appointment.
What are my options for replacing missing teeth?
At Progressive Dental Group, we offer several different options – dental implants, bridges, and dentures. Implants are our top recommendation because they replicate the entire structure of the natural tooth, providing unparalleled health benefits, longevity, and durability. However, we understand that not every patient’s situation is right for this procedure, which is why we’d be happy to design a highly modern and customized bridge or denture prosthetic in its place. These options and their unique benefits can be explored in much greater detail during a consultation.
If I need braces, will I have to go to a separate orthodontist?
Not at all! Our comprehensive menu of services here in New Caney and Humble, TX features traditional orthodontics for children and adults alike, which means that your family can stay with a team you already know and trust throughout this transformative treatment process.
I want to straighten my teeth, but I don’t want to have to wear metal brackets and wires. Is there another option?
Absolutely. Invisalign® Clear Braces has revolutionized the traditional braces model, relying on clear plastic aligners instead to guide teeth towards their ideal positioning. These aligners are very subtle when worn, conveniently removable, and made of a smooth, high-quality plastic that won’t irritate the gum tissue. They are typically most effective when treating mild to moderate orthodontic concerns.
I’m afraid of the dentist. Can you help?
Yes. Sedation dentistry is available at both of our practices to create a highly relaxed space for worried or anxious patients of all ages. Your comfort is always a top priority!
Do you take dental insurance?
Yes! We are in-network with most major PPO dental insurance plans and will personally file any claims on the patient’s behalf to maximize their deserved reimbursements. To learn more, please visit our new patients page.
